The February performance leader, the Athlon XP 2000+, was replaced in this issue by the Athlon XP 2100+. The Athlon XP 2100+ fell in price over $100 in the past weeks and even now the Athlon XP 2100+ comes in at $40 less than the Athlon XP 2000+ was when it was king of the hill in February. The Athlon MP also got a new chip in its line, the Athlon MP 2000+. Naturally the old Athlon lines did not get any new additions since our last price guide, but prices do continue to fall for these chips, with entry level Athlons costing less than $100. The highest speed Duron chip, the 1.3GHz version, rings in $12 cheaper than it was in February and is now priced at only $77.
